Guddu Sweets

Terms and conditions

Last updated 31 August 2026

These terms apply when you order from Guddu Sweets, an online Indian mithai shop based in Edinburgh. By placing an order you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

About us

Guddu Sweets is an online-only business trading from Edinburgh. There is no shop or collection point; all orders are delivered. You can reach us at guddusweets@gmail.com or 07478237090.

Placing an order

Adding items to your basket is an invitation to treat, not a contract. A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email after your payment has been authorised. If an item is unavailable or the chosen delivery date is fully booked, we will contact you to change the order or refund you in full.

Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Prices shown are for the weight or box size you select. Delivery is free on orders over £30; a delivery charge of £4.99 applies to orders below that, and it is shown clearly before you pay.

Payment is taken in full at checkout through Stripe. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing errors and to cancel and refund an affected order.

Delivery

You choose your delivery date at checkout from the dates we have available. Each date has limited capacity, so booking early is advised, particularly around Raksha Bandhan and Diwali. We deliver to the postcode areas listed at checkout.

We will make every reasonable effort to deliver on your chosen date. If we cannot, we will contact you as soon as possible to rearrange or refund. Please make sure someone is available at the delivery address, as mithai is perishable and we cannot be responsible for products left unattended at your instruction.

Cancellations and changes

Because our sweets are freshly made to order and perishable, the statutory 14-day cooling-off right for distance sales does not apply (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28). You may amend or cancel an order for a full refund up to 72 hours before your chosen delivery date. Within 72 hours we may have already purchased ingredients and begun preparation, so cancellation may not be possible.

Allergens and food safety

Our sweets are made in a kitchen that handles milk, nuts (including cashew, pistachio and almond), wheat, sesame and soya. We cannot guarantee any product is free from traces of these allergens. If you or a recipient has a food allergy, please tell us before ordering and do not order if you are unsure.

Mithai is best enjoyed within 3–5 days. Store in a cool, dry place or refrigerate milk-based sweets. Storage guidance is included with your order.

Faulty or incorrect orders

If anything arrives damaged, incorrect or not of satisfactory quality, contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photographs and we will arrange a replacement or refund. See our refund policy for full details.

Liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Scots law and disputes fall to the courts of Scotland. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you order is the one that applies.
